Things Got a Little Crafty in 2015!

The 2015 Wingfest was one of the greatest because festivalgoers enjoyed a total “craft” experience.

Everybody knows there are two traditional kinds of wings: buffalo and barbeque. But, there’s a whole other category of specialty wings that include everything from those with a peanut butter & jelly sauce to those featuring maple syrup and bacon. We call those “craft wings” and here are some samples of what was enjoyed during the 2015 festival:

  • Beach Bum Rum
  • Big Ditch BBQ
  • Breakfast at Tiffany’s
  • Carmel Crunch
  • Drunken Sombrero
  • Eh Tu Brut
  • Honey, Maple Madness
  • Kashmiri/Devil’s Blood
  • KimChi Wing
  • Ole’ Mole
  • Peanut Butter & Jelly

The centerpiece to this new craft-centric concept was the first-ever Craft Wing Showcase where visitors watched and learned as chefs demonstrated the creation of their unique craft wings, while local brewers paired each wing creation with a signature craft beer.

In addition, local craft brewers poured more than 15 style of beer all weekend. Visitors tipped back some local suds from:

Resurgence Brewing Co.

  • Autumn Saison (saison/farmhouse ale-style)
  • Resurgence IPA (American-style IPA)

Big Ditch Brewing Company:

  • Excavator (rye brown ale)
  • Hayburner (American-style IPA)

Flying Bison Brewing Company:

  • Bisonfest, (Belgium-style IPA)
  • Down by the River (vanilla oatmeal stout)

Community Beer Works:

  • The Whale (American brown ale)
  • THAT IPA (American-style IPA)

Festivalgoers also learned about the craft cocktail craze from local bartenders and mixologists who prepared, served and shared information on their favorite craft cocktails inside the Premier Gourmet Pavilion. Participating restaurants and chefs included:
